Care Responsibilities

Your TMG IRIS consultant is your partner as you create a plan that meets your needs and stays within your IRIS budget. Your TMG IRIS consultant can connect you to resources in your area, and will be a great source of information for any questions you have about the IRIS program. In a self-directed program like IRIS, you decide who provides your support and services and when they happen. You may have natural support from people in your life, or you may choose to purchase the support you need from an agency or someone that you hire directly. Your TMG IRIS consultant will be there to talk through these decisions with you, and will help you put a plan in place that reflects your choices.

Prior to joining TMG, I worked as a case manager, a certified nursing assistant/home health care provider, a safety services case manager and a supervised visitation worker. I also owned a childcare center and was an advocate for the Responsible Fatherhood Program. I also have personal experience, as my mother had a mental illness, and my grandmother had extensive medical needs and lived with my family for 12 years.

How do you Partner with people to 'clear the path ahead'?
I like to partner with people by supporting their goals whether they are personal, long-term care, or goals for employment.

What's your favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant?
My favorite part about being a TMG IRIS Consultant is that I am a partner and not case manager. I support people in their personal, long-term care, and employment goals.

What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
Having worked in a wide variety of healthcare and case management, as well as helping family members with extensive medical needs, has prepared me to be a knowledgeable and compassionate TMG IRIS Consultant.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, especially since my husband's work takes him away from home three days a week. Our children range in age from 13 years old to 25 years old, and we have two grandsons. So my goal is for us all to be together whenever we can. I also enjoy spending time in our community, working on projects around our home, or just enjoying some me time – it’s my self-care time for my physical and mental health.
