I have experience assisting children one-on-one to help with cognitive and behavioral skills, teaching environmental education to youth in urban areas, and serving families who have children with emotional and mental health needs. Recently, I have assisted people with disabilities and those who are aging so that they can remain independent in my role as an independent living coordinator. What's your favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant?
My favorite thing about being a TMG IRIS Consultant is helping empower people to have control over their own lives.
What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
As an independent living coordinator, I learned how to be a strong advocate for others as well as empower people to advocate for themselves. It is important to listen and understand everyone's background and know where they are coming from. Providing people with the tools they need to remain independent, whether it is personal cares, housing or accessibility is important to achieve specific goals.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy gardening and taking care of my plants. I also enjoy watching funny animal videos on YouTube.
