Connecting and Sharing through TMG IRIS Legislative Meetings

By: Heidi Pankoke, Director of Government Relations and Strategic Initiatives

For the past two years, TMG has held local meetings between people in IRIS and legislators to provide legislators the opportunity to meet constituents who are enrolled in IRIS and hear firsthand about their experiences. Legislators, people in IRIS, their family members and caregivers, IRIS Consultants, and TMG’s government relations advisor attend these meetings.

To date, 22 sessions involving more than 40 legislators have been held in communities around the state, including:

  • Milwaukee and surrounding suburbs
  • Germantown
  • Kenosha
  • Menomonie
  • Appleton
  • Washburn
  • Sheboygan
  • La Crosse
  • Ripon
  • Racine
  • Tomahawk
  • Stevens Point
  • Brookfield
  • Wausau
  • Fond du Lac

These sessions take place in casual settings where individuals can share information with their legislators about their experiences. In turn, legislators can learn how self-directed supports work and the unique way TMG IRIS Consultants partner with people to achieve their long term care goals.

If you would like to find out more about these meetings, please contact Heidi Pankoke, TMG’s Director of Government Relations and Strategic Initiatives, at 608-210-3682 or hpankoke@tmgwisconsin.com.
