Your TMG IRIS consultant is your partner as you create a plan that meets your needs and stays within your IRIS budget. Your TMG IRIS consultant can connect you to resources in your area, and will be a great source of information for any questions you have about the IRIS program. In a self-directed program like IRIS, you decide who provides your support and services and when they happen. You may have natural support from people in your life, or you may choose to purchase the support you need from an agency or someone that you hire directly. Your TMG IRIS consultant will be there to talk through these decisions with you, and will help you put a plan in place that reflects your choices.

More about me

How do you Partner with people to 'clear the path ahead'?
Because I am in a role to support and encourage, I make it my responsibility to ensure that the people I partner with are aware of their potential, and I encourage them to take the lead to be the self-sufficient person they’re capable of being. We would work together to use resources and tactics that have worked best for you in the past, and build upon that to address current and future goals you may have.

What's your favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant?
I enjoy being part of the support system for others. I also like working with people to help them conquer barriers that have hindered them in the past. My greatest accomplishments in all the positions I have held are those accomplishments in which the person I partner with can move forward with the skills, knowledge and motivation to be confident and self-sufficient as they continue to live their lives.

What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
I have always been passionate about assisting others. My education provided me with a foundation, but it has been my work experience, and the opportunities afforded to me to meet and learn from a vast array of individuals, that has prepared me for the role as an IRIS Consultant. Along with the things I have learned from my family and from my personal choices throughout life, working in child welfare, juvenile corrections, Wisconsin to Work (W2), juvenile residential programs and in foster care has reiterated the importance of being open to differences and how those differences affect the well-being of others. These experiences have strengthened my awareness of and the importance of being empathetic, having patience, being understanding and not being judgmental of others choices.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I am a very family-oriented person, and I enjoy spending my free time with my family. We like getting together to enjoy each other’s company have a potluck, movie night, or getting out together in the community. It provides an opportunity to release tension through laughter and fun.
