Care Responsibilities

Your TMG IRIS consultant is your partner as you create a plan that meets your needs and stays within your IRIS budget. Your TMG IRIS consultant can connect you to resources in your area, and will be a great source of information for any questions you have about the IRIS program. In a self-directed program like IRIS, you decide who provides your support and services and when they happen. You may have natural support from people in your life, or you may choose to purchase the support you need from an agency or someone that you hire directly. Your TMG IRIS consultant will be there to talk through these decisions with you, and will help you put a plan in place that reflects your choices.

More about me

How do you Partner with people to 'clear the path ahead'?
I like to partner with people by first taking the time to build trust between the two of us. I do this by striving to be honest and open with everyone. I think it so important to listen to the person I am partnering with to learn what would make their life better.

What's your favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant?
I love the idea of helping people achieve independence through self-direction. It is inspiring to see that the IRIS program truly helps the people in it live the life they choose.

What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
Every experience I have had in my career, whether good and bad, has prepared me to become a TMG IRIS Consultant. Life does not go by a blueprint and nothing is predictable. I have learned that all people are different and have their own perspective on their life. I respect that and have learned not to judge what is right for someone else.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
When I’m not at work, spending time with my family is the most important thing I do. When I have the extra time, I love to read, and I even belong to a local book club. I can spend hours in a bookstore! I also try to get outdoors to go on walks, hiking and camping with the family. Even a good movie is better outside!
