Care Responsibilities

Your TMG IRIS consultant is your partner as you create a plan that meets your needs and stays within your IRIS budget. Your TMG IRIS consultant can connect you to resources in your area, and will be a great source of information for any questions you have about the IRIS program. In a self-directed program like IRIS, you decide who provides your support and services and when they happen. You may have natural support from people in your life, or you may choose to purchase the support you need from an agency or someone that you hire directly. Your TMG IRIS consultant will be there to talk through these decisions with you, and will help you put a plan in place that reflects your choices.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work with individuals who have a wide range of disabilities. The majority of my time was spent working with people who have developmental and/or physical disabilities. I have experience working with individuals who have autism, and my work as a behavior interventionist made me very comfortable working with those who have behavior support needs. As a special education teacher by trade, I have experience with IEPs and plan development, and recognize the importance of the transition years.

More about me

How do you Partner with people to 'clear the path ahead'?
For me, partnering with people means listening to people. I will take the time to learn what is most important to you, and then work alongside you to develop a plan to meet your goals. I will help you find options that will not only fit within your IRIS budget, but also utilize other resources so that you can continue to have access to the things you need to be successful.

What's your favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant?
My favorite thing about being a TMG IRIS Consultant is providing assistance to people as they self-direct their supports and services. I am a huge advocate for self-direction because it gives each individual the authority to make decisions that are best for him or her! I enjoy helping others find ways to meet their goals so that they can live a life that is healthy and rewarding.

What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
Prior to joining TMG, I managed an adult services program at a developmental disability agency, worked as a Developmental Specialist, taught as a special education teacher, and provided respite care. I have experience in plan development, working alongside individuals to help them foster independence in their homes and communities, and partnering with people to find the resources they need to live the lives they choose.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my husband and three boys. They keep my life very active and interesting! I like to read, and I manage my stress through running and exercise. I enjoy volunteering at our local schools and spending time with extended family!
