More about me
How do you Partner with people to 'clear the path ahead'?
Partnering to me means creating a meaningful and comfortable relationship to have an open and honest conversation with the person and their goals and what it will take to achieve them. We will identify the best supports and services that IRIS funds can be used for to help reach goals with the desired outcomes.
What's your favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant?
I'm a strong proponent of the IRIS program and self-direction. I believe an individual should have the right to choose their services and providers so that they can be comfortable and have quality of life. My biggest joy is seeing individuals participating in the IRIS program achieving their goals and living comfortable in their homes and community, and stating, IRIS makes it possible.
What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
In addition to my education and work experience, I have a family member who has a development disability and who has never been in a facility. She has always been cared for by family members in her home and has lived past her life expectancy. This has been attributed to the care and love she has received by family and the people who know her best. This has allowed me to better understand the importance of self-direction and how important it is to be able to live in one's own home and community.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time I enjoy reading, listening to jazz, gospel, classical, and R & B music, and going to live theater and jazz shows. My favorite past time is spending time with family, traveling, philanthropy, and charity work.
