I have lived and worked in Madison in a variety of long term care roles. I am familiar with the many resources in the area. Since moving to Sauk City, I have many opportunities to access Madison and Dane County area resources to assist people in living a meaningful life. I work hard to find resources to meet the needs of the people I partner with in a fully self-directed program. I have worked with individuals moving to and from Dane County to connect with resources. I have partner with people to build on employment, daily living skills and brainstorming with participants, caregivers, guardians and providers to discover new ways to meet their needs. I have worked with a variety of individuals in the community for 20+ years. In addition to my TMG work, I have worked in a nursing home, assisted living, and domestic abuse shelters. I'm proud of the many people that I have partnered with in achieving their employment goals and learning new skills. I'm also committed to assisting people in living and remaining in their own homes.

More about me

How do you Partner with people to 'clear the path ahead'?
Partnering means learning about the individual and their goals, then making an action plan the person feels comfortable with to achieve them. First, I work with the person to identify services or supports available now. This will help to maximize use of all available resources as well as the IRIS budget and keep the resources you need to get the care and support necessary to realize those important goals.

What's your favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant?
I enjoy working with people and learning more about their hopes and dreams and then helping them achieve them. I'm a big believer in self-directed care, because itÆs the path I would choose for myself and it keeps the person using services in control of the things happening around them. Helping people get the most out of life is rewarding and fulfilling. My biggest joys are when they achieve something that theyÆve worked hard at or wanted for a long time.

What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
I have worked with people in the community for many years and have a history of working in a nursing home, assisted living, as well as helping survivors of domestic violence and their families.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy gardening, hiking with my dogs and bird watching. I am also an avid reader and enjoy cooking new recipes.
