More about me
How do you Partner with people to 'clear the path ahead'?
I believe it is important to build a relationship with someone I partner with. It can be overwhelming to have an IRIS Consultant come into the home and go through ALL the paperwork. I try to take the initial and orientation meetings at the individual's pace. There is a lot of information.
What's your favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant?
My favorite things about being an IRIS Consultant are being able to partner with individuals and see how the IRIS program helps individuals be more independent and grow.
What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
Prior to joining TMG, I worked at an independent living center in Western Wisconsin as a Work Incentives Benefits Specialist, where I helped individuals with different state/federal benefits understand how working may affect their benefits. This experience has giving me a good understanding of how to help people of all abilities live self-directed lives and has given me a good knowledge of available resources within the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, the Social Security Administration, and the local Income Maintenance agency.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
My free time consists of spending time with friends and family, playing video games, facilitating an arthritis support group, practicing yoga, drawing zentangles - a form of meditative doodling, and hanging out with my awesome dog, Boz.
