How do you Partner with people to 'clear the path ahead'?
I believe in great communication and I try to be as honest as I can with people. I like to get to know people's background and needs in order to be able to help them with the best resources available. I like to come up with goals and work together to accomplish them and make people feel like they are as independent as they can be. I like to promote positive thinking and push people to believe in themselves. I like working together as a team and figuring out services needed to keep the person participating in the IRIS Program happy and safe in their home.
What's your favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant?
I am able to get to know a lot of different type of people and learn how to work together to come up with services that fit their needs.
What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
I have been in the field of social work for some years and have learned about resources and services available for people in their communities. I have learned to build rapport with different types of people and make them feel comfortable with my presence. I have learned how to prioritize my work and be reliable to the individuals I partner with when they need my assistance.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I like spending time with my family, my kids are my everything, and I devote all of my free time to them. I love going on vacations and I try to at least go on vacation once a year.
