More about me

How do you Partner with people to 'clear the path ahead'?
Partnering means getting to know the person and what is most important to them to be able to live the life they want, then working with him or her to make a plan to achieve their goals. I help people to identify their strengths and supports, and also assist them to use their IRIS budget wisely to obtain the resources available in their area that will be most helpful.

What's your favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant?
I enjoy being a part of a process and system that helps individuals be in control of their own lives and resources. I especially enjoy visiting with people in their own homes, and being a part of their life. I hope I make a difference by helping people in IRIS make choices that reflect who they are and maintain the independence they desire.

What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
My experience as a Home and Community Based Services Case Manager prepared me to be an IRIS Consultant. I helped individuals maintain their independence and locate services and supports. My work history includes working as activity coordinator at a vocational rehabilitation program and as parent aide to assist young parents in making safe decisions in raising their children. I have a close family friend with mental illness and have been a part of her journey to sustain her own independence and meaningful life.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy reading, cooking, and spending time with my family, especially my grandchildren. I like walking in our neighborhood for exercise and being involved in community events and activities. I really enjoy being a part of small town life.
