More about me
How do you Partner with people to 'clear the path ahead'?
I let the individuals I’m partnering with in the IRIS Program take the lead and show me and tell me how he or she wants to live their life. I then provide knowledge on different resources that can work together to help the goal be achieved. Together we develop a plan that works for the individual and we come back to the plan often to see what is working, what is not working, and make changes if needed.
What's your favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant?
As a TMG IRIS Consultant, I enjoy meeting with people where they live and work and partnering to create a plan that provides resources and steps to achieving life goals.
What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
My last position with a local Home Care agency provided me the experience of meeting with people in their homes to discuss their needs. By having thorough conversations, I was able to partner clients with the best worker. My experience with filling out new hire paperwork provided me the basis for helping people participating in the IRIS Program and Participant-Hired Workers fill out paperwork to ensure a quick turnaround from offer of position to starting work.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I like to stay informed so I am an avid NPR listener and I read The Economist, Bloomberg News Week, and National Geography. I enjoy reading other types of material too such as fantasy books. I have two young boys at home that keep me busy and I love animals. I have owned turtles, mice, a cat, and still have a Border Collie Red Heeler, who has a lot of energy.
