More about me
How do you Partner with people to 'clear the path ahead'?
I let the individuals I’m partnering with in the IRIS Program take the lead and show me and tell me how he or she wants to live their life. I then provide knowledge on different resources that can work together to help the goal be achieved. Together we develop a plan that works for the individual and we come back to the plan often to see what is working, what is not working, and make changes if needed.
What's your favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant?
As a TMG IRIS Consultant, I enjoy meeting with people where they live and work and partnering to create a plan that provides resources and steps to achieving life goals.
What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
My many years providing direct care for people of all ages and all abilities was a great fit for becoming a TMG IRIS Consultant. I have an understanding of the perspective guardians and caregivers bring to the table. My years as a supervisor in home care and overseeing new enrollments, prior to becoming an IRIS Consultant, were also ideal to help me work with people to create a plan to achieve life goals, which is unique to that individual.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
My family and I enjoy playing board and card games, explore the local and surrounding communities, traveling and we enjoy family movie night. I enjoy reading all types of books and literature - my children and I love our local library! I love a good comedy podcast and have several I listen too. My family has a border collie blue heeler, who is on the older side, that still enjoys going to the park and for walks around the neighborhood.
