More about me

How do you Partner with people to 'clear the path ahead'?
I have had the experience of working with individuals from birth through adulthood. During this experience I have helped and supported individuals and families as they were first learning about their child’s different abilities as well as working with individuals as their abilities transformed. Through my personal experience as an Adult Family Home Provider and Foster Parent, I also know firsthand how the right team and services can make all the difference for an individual and/or family. By helping these individuals learn to be a voice for themselves, they learn to advocate and become more confident and successful. I want to be able to help individuals and families not only as their partner who knows the services that are available, but also as the parent who has had the personal experience and can relate to the families.

What's your favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant?
I enjoy being able to work alongside with the person in IRIS with and their families as an equal partner as together we are able to help each participant and family reach their fullest potential.

What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
I have had prior experience working with Adults with different abilities both professionally and also as an Adult Family Home Provider. I have also had first-hand experience as my family cared for my Grandfather in our home and the variety of emotions and energy (both positive and negative) that went into caring for him.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family going to soccer, basketball, hockey and baseball games. We also enjoy theater, bowling, spending time outside and watching movies. During the summer our favorite place to be is sitting on the beach or at the waterpark.
