Care Responsibilities

Your TMG IRIS consultant is your partner as you create a plan that meets your needs and stays within your IRIS budget. Your TMG IRIS consultant can connect you to resources in your area, and will be a great source of information for any questions you have about the IRIS program. In a self-directed program like IRIS, you decide who provides your support and services and when they happen. You may have natural support from people in your life, or you may choose to purchase the support you need from an agency or someone that you hire directly. Your TMG IRIS consultant will be there to talk through these decisions with you, and will help you put a plan in place that reflects your choices.

More about me

How do you Partner with people to 'clear the path ahead'?
I partner with people to “clear the path ahead” by listening closely and working towards their goals from where they are at that point in time. I help them find ways to achieve their dreams as needed. I also encourage people to be as independent as possible and to find the path to the best possible outcome.

What's your favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant?
My favorite part of working with TMG is that I am a big believer in self-direction, and I am impressed with the IRIS program as it appears to blend the best of the original COP/CIP program with self-directed care. I enjoy meeting people in their own homes and communities. This is truly a gift to me as a social worker because as a TMG IRIS Consultant, I’m able to work closely with the people I partner with so that I can get a clear understanding of what’s important to them.

What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
All of my work experiences have led me to become a capable TMG IRIS Consultant. However, I feel that working as a COP/CIP Case Manager for 14 years as well as a CSP Case Manager for 3 years prepared me the most for this role. Having a solid medical background through working at a hospital and two skilled nursing facilities has also been quite beneficial.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy singing with Dubuque Chorale as well as the Isthmus Vocal Ensemble in Madison. I also enjoy traveling, reading non-fiction (especially history), hiking, and spending as much time as possible with family and valued friends. I especially enjoy attending concerts and participating in community theater whenever possible.
