More about me
How do you Partner with people to 'clear the path ahead'?
No obstacle is too big or too challenging. I partner with people by using the resources in our community to help individuals achieve their goals relating to employment, health, safety, housing, community, transportation, and long-term relationships. Together, we can make obstacles achievable goals.
What's your favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant?
I find my work rewarding because I get to partner with individuals to create plans that will help them live a fulfilling life. I strongly believe in helping individuals live self-determined lives and look forward to helping more families achieve this goal.
What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
Throughout college, I worked as a lead caregiver at a group home for adults with developmental disabilities. I loved helping the residents learn new skills, practice their active daily living, and most of all gain independence in their lives and community. For the past three years, I worked for a non-profit agency in Chicago, supervising several case managers and approximately 25 group homes for adults with developmental disabilities.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time, I love to paint acrylic or watercolor paintings. I enjoy being outdoors, camping, and kayaking with my husband and dog.
