More about me
How do you Partner with people to 'clear the path ahead'?
To me, clearing the path ahead means removing the biggest obstacles preventing someone from living his/her life to the fullest potential. We will begin the partnership with the individual participating in the IRIS Program sharing what is most important to them and what their biggest needs are. Then, we will work together to create a plan within his/her budget that meets those needs. I am the person's ongoing resource and support person.
What's your favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant?
I work with a number of people who have shared, over time, that the IRIS program has changed their lives for the better. They say they are now able to live a more fulfilling life and knowing that I am a small part of that is fulfilling for me. I truly enjoy assisting people to obtain the resources they need, as well as just having the opportunity to visit with them.
What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
Prior to working at TMG, I was a Certified Nursing Assistant and Special Education Teacher. Working in the medical field for a few years familiarized me with a wide variety of medical conditions and their associated needs. As a Special Education Teacher, I gained a wealth of experience working with individuals who have a wide range of cognitive disabilities. All of my jobs throughout my life have been in the service industry because assisting others to improve their day, year, and/or life is what I am truly passionate about.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I spend as much time as I can playing with my young children. We enjoy going on family adventures and visiting with other family and friends. I like to do word and number puzzles, because I don't have time to read anymore (unless it is a children's book!). I have a vegetable garden and enjoy canning. I also enjoy antique and craft shopping.
