More about me

How do you Partner with people to 'clear the path ahead'?
I partner with individuals by listening and learning what is important to them. I will partner with individuals to identify the barriers in their path and let individuals identify how to clear their barriers. I will partner with individuals and provide resources to individuals to assist them in decision making. I will partner with individuals and be a support for their journey to reach their individual goals.

What's your favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant?
I enjoy being on the journey with individuals who are in charge of their own care, while assisting them to reach their individually identified goal. If a challenge or issue arises I am eager to take on the challenge and rectify the issue. I enjoy meeting new individuals, their families, and learning about their traditions.

What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
My experience as a parent of an adult child with impairments has prepared me for being an IRIS Consultant. My education as an Occupational Therapist has provided me with the background and experience an individual may want when choosing their IRIS Consultant. Prior to my education and becoming an IRIS Consultant I was a Cosmetologist and had the pleasure of getting to know individuals for long periods of time.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I have been an advocate for individuals by participating in a local Chapter of the ARC. I have been the vice president and been involved since 2009. I enjoy watching the birds that I invite to my plentiful bird feeders. I enjoy container gardening and I like to hunt for vintage items like jewelry, lamps, and furniture.
