How do you Partner with people to 'clear the path ahead'?
I partner to help people in the planning and developing of their services and supports. I collaborate with the people and work together as a team to help them clear the path ahead. Building a good relationship and having good communication with the people I partner with is important. It is important to develop a relationship with the people I work with to be able to understand and help them find what resources or supports they need to help them in their everyday life.
What's your favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant?
My favorite thing about being a TMG IRIS Consultant is being able to help people achieve their goals/outcomes and get the services and supports that best fit their needs. I like to see the people I partner with get the supports and services they need to help them living comfortably, happy, and independently in their home and community.
What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
I have social services and healthcare background. On the social services side I worked as a Case Manager to help find supports, resources and services for people. In the health care field, I worked directly with the people in their home by providing hands on care, supports, and services to them. These two experiences gave me the opportunity to see and understand from both sides. As a Case Manager I have the knowledge to help people find resources and supports to help them. As a health care provider I have the opportunity to take care of the people who needs assistance in the home and understand their daily living circumstances - what issues they go through every day and what resources they lack that prevents them from achieving their goals.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time I like to spend quality time with my family. Family is very important to me. I love my kids and try to spend time with them and do things with them as much as I can when I'm not working. I like to read books, do craft work, bake, and exercise.
