Northeast Long-Term Care Implementation Plan Progresses

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) is busy finalizing a work plan for the northeast long-term care implementation which brings IRIS and Family Care into the seven northeastern counties (Brown, Kewaunee, Door, Menomonee, Oconto, Marinette, and Shawano).

DHS has confirmed that each county can begin enrollment counseling with existing waiver participants four months prior to that county’s “go-live” date. Given that two counties are tentatively scheduled to begin their implementation in June 2015, we could begin to see referrals as early as February.

TMG has begun the recruitment process to ensure that we have staff ready to partner with the people who choose IRIS in early 2015. In addition, representatives from the TMG ICA and the IRIS SDPC Oversight Agency are working with DHS to develop plans for implementation of IRIS in the Northeast to help ensure a smooth transition. Please stay tuned for more information about the Northeast Long Term Care Transition in this newsletter.
