How do you Partner with people to 'clear the path ahead'?
Empowering the people I partner with to self-direct their care needs and supports is a task which requires a significant amount of trust. I take pride in the connections I build, and I strongly encourage independence and confidence in service set-up. I am an active listener and understand I am there to support the person in their program. I will give suggestions and advise as desired and will ensure I am monitoring a participant's health and safety in the program.
What's your favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant?
My favorite part about being a TMG IRIS Consultant is seeing the people I partner with experience personal growth and gain more confidence.
What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
Prior to my current role as a TMG IRIS Consultant, I had worked at the TMG IRIS Consultant Agency (ICA) for over six years, and then went to work at my local Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC). While at the ADRC, I gained insight into the significant need of individuals who desire to participate in long term care programming. I have learned to empathize, actively listen, and provide all supports possible for continued in-home health and safety.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I love to shop at thrift stores, hike, travel to national parks, and spend time with my dogs and family.
