Care Responsibilities

Your TMG IRIS consultant is your partner as you create a plan that meets your needs and stays within your IRIS budget. Your TMG IRIS consultant can connect you to resources in your area, and will be a great source of information for any questions you have about the IRIS program. In a self-directed program like IRIS, you decide who provides your support and services and when they happen. You may have natural support from people in your life, or you may choose to purchase the support you need from an agency or someone that you hire directly. Your TMG IRIS consultant will be there to talk through these decisions with you, and will help you put a plan in place that reflects your choices.

Prior to working for TMG, I worked for United Cerebral Palsy of Dane County for nine years coordinating respite services and youth resources programming. I was in the community often, both providing direct service and educating about inclusion at a variety of conferences, as well as at UW Madison, the Department of Transportation, a number of childcare programs and for AmeriCorps. In addition, I previously worked with children, teens and adults who had disabilities as a vocational coordinator and job coach.

What's your favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant?
My favorite thing about being an IRIS Consultant is empowering people with disabilities to make their own choices about how they want to live their lives.

What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
My previous experiences in service coordination, advocacy, educating community members and working alongside adults with disabilities have all prepared me for my position as an IRIS Consultant – as an advocate for you!

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time, I love spending time outdoors hiking, snowshoeing, taking photos of nature/flowers, dancing, doing yoga/exercising, as well as spending time with my friends, family and four-legged furry pets.
