More about me
How do you Partner with people to 'clear the path ahead'?
Partnering with people means learning about your story and finding out what is most important to you and what your goals are. I would find out what is working for you now and what you wish was working better. I would help you make a plan to achieve these goals. I would work with you to help you identify what services and supports are available and help you fit these into your IRIS budget.
What's your favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant?
I love giving people the tools and resources they need to help them achieve their goals. I enjoy getting to know the people I work with and hearing of their challenges, successes and joys. I am thrilled when a service or a provider that we have been working on is set up and ready to go.
What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
My education in social work has prepared me to partner with the people I work with and allow them to set their own goals. I was a caregiver for my grandmother and my mother and learned from them the humbling experience of having to ask and wait for help. I have learned through my work experience of over 20 years of working in home health and long term care settings that the most important thing we can do is listen.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time, I love spending time with my grandchildren, I enjoy gardening, listening to audible books, my dog and traveling.
