More about me
How do you Partner with people to 'clear the path ahead'?
I partner with people by forming authentic relationships that will develop a trusting partnership. I do this by learning their needs and interests to help the individual create a person-centered plan that will help them meet their goals. We will work together to promote their independence in their home, community, and/or employment.
What's your favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant?
I love to serve! I enjoy working in with individuals in the community and in their homes. I love connecting them to resources, supports and services that will contribute to the betterment of their lives. Furthermore, I love that the IRIS program allows these individuals to self-direct their long-term care services, since they know what is best for themselves. Working as a TMG IRIS Consultant allows me to help individuals live independently.
What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
My experience in working with those with disabilities has given me an even greater respect for an individual’s contribution to create the goals that affect their lives. I respect each individual as they have a voice, a preference, and the right to decide on what services and/or supports they need to help them maintain their independence in their homes and in the community. I've learned that when individuals feel respected, their strengths are maximized, and they thrive in obtaining their goals. I love being a part of them meeting their goals, as I love witnessing their growth.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy watching movies, traveling, walking and site-seeing. I also love the laughter of children, and I enjoy interacting with them. Although I enjoy all children, I especially love 3 and 4-year-olds, as they are little people with big hearts.
