What's your favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant?
As a TMG IRIS Consultant, I enjoy seeing the people I partner with in the IRIS Program meet their goals and maintain those goals. I enjoying learning about each person and listening to their stories. I enjoy being a part of the planning process and watching each person thrive.

What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
While my formal education has helped me greatly, my life experience is what has shaped me. As a teenager I took care of my Grandfather who struggled with a memory impairment. It helped me to understand firsthand how to take care of a loved one with dignity and respect. Also my paid care giving experience in the hospital setting and long-term care setting has helped me understand how to ask the right question, be an advocate for my patients, and to assist families to be advocates for themselves and loved ones. As a Dementia Care Specialist, I learned how to assist Caregivers with understanding the disease processes and resources available for them. While learning to take care of themselves as well to maintain a healthy balance of care giving and personal well-being.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy working out with my husband, I spend hours in the pool and sports with my children. Our family enjoys movies, church, and reading.
