I like to see the dedication that you put forth – it makes me proud to watch you make achievements towards your goals! I love to see you smile and say, “I got this!” I also like to see you find space in your community and build connections there!
What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
My work experience has helped pave the way for me to become an IRIS Consultant. My experience as a medical assistant in Milwaukee County assisted in my career growth. I was able to work directly with different doctors, advance practice nurse prescribers (APNP), and physician assistants (PA-C) in numerous specialties. In return, I was able to provide the help that was needed to all patients. My experience as a Human Service Worker for the Aging and Disability Resource Centers (ADRCs) of Milwaukee County helped me to expand professional relations with the populations in which I served. I screened people for functional abilities and conducted options counseling sessions for each long-term care waiver program in the person's home. My experience as a Care Manager in Milwaukee, Lafayette and Green counties helped me to acquire a better understanding of the why, what and how I could assist in making a difference in each individual's life. I work with people who are aging, people who have Dementia and Alzheimer's disease, people who are physically disabled and those who are dealing with mental health issues.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I have seven guinea pigs, one dog, one cat and two children. I like to spend my time with them! I also like to get out and do fun activities!
