Prior to TMG, I worked in the Family Care Program through Community Care for two and a half years. During my time at Community Care, I worked with individuals who have intellectual disabilities as well as with people who are aging. I would complete assessments, care plans, long-term care functional screens, and to establish services to meet the members needs. During my time at Southern Illinois University, I completed two separate internships in two different environments. My first internship was while I was obtaining my bachelor of social work degree, and I worked with individuals who have various mental health diagnosis and substance abuse. My second internship during graduate school was completed at the Marion VA Medical Center, where I worked with veterans who served in the Iraq War.

How do you Partner with people to 'clear the path ahead'?
I am able to build rapport with the individuals I work with by actively listening to their needs and wants, asking questions, communicating professionally with them, and establishing services to meet their needs.

What's your favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant?
I am excited to be part of an organization whose mission is to empower people to live meaningful lives in their communities. I feel an individual should be able to make decisions about their lives, as safely as possible, and live life to the fullest.

What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
My previous employment was with a managed care organization. I completed assessments, care plans, long-term care functional screens, budgets related to self-directed supports and supportive home care agencies, and more. All of this has prepared me to be a knowledgeable and compassionate TMG IRIS Consultant. I look forward to getting to know you and helping you achieve your goals.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I have two dogs that I consider my fur babies, and I spend a lot of time with them. Kona is a pit bull puppy and will be one years old on Valentine’s Day! Jagger (named after the Mick Jagger from the Rolling Stones) is a German Shepherd/Husky Mix and we adopted him in 2018. During the summer, my fiancé and I enjoy taking the pups on walks by Lake Michigan. I also enjoy binge watching Netflix, exploring new restaurants, fishing, camping, making homemade candles, spending time with family, and watching football. Go Rams!
