More about me
How do you Partner with people to 'clear the path ahead'?
Partnering means learning about you and your goals, then making an action plan you feel comfortable with to achieve them. First, I work with you to identify services or supports available now. This will help to stretch your IRIS budget and keep the resources you need to get the care and support necessary to realize those important goals.
What's your favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant?
IÆm a big believer in self-directed care, because itÆs the path I would choose for myself and it keeps the person in the IRIS program in control of the things happening around them. Helping people get the most out of life is rewarding and fulfilling. My biggest joys are when they achieve something that theyÆve worked hard at or wanted for a long time.
What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
My education was very important, but ôreal lifeö experience has been even more powerful for me. As a caregiver for my mother, I learned the importance of asking questions and really listening. Sometimes, itÆs hard for people to put into words what they really want because they're not used to being asked. I truly enjoy the conversations that lead to learning together.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy traveling around United States and over the seas with my family and friends. I am also an avid reader and enjoy sporting events, concerts and family gatherings.
