More About Me

How do you Partner with people to 'clear the path ahead'?
Partnering with individual to Clear The Path Ahead is allowing them to determine what their goal is and helping them meet their goal. Each goal is different that provides different obstacles and challenges. In those moments, it is working with the person to help them become creative, brainstorm and review all options.

What's your favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant?
My favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant is being there for the individual to advocate, brainstorm and over their options while they are self-directing their care and needs. The individual knows what is best in their situation and TMG is there to help them to meet their needs and goals.

What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
Prior to coming to TMG, I worked with the Aging & Disability Resource Center for 10 years helping connect individuals to resources and services either in the home or community.  Over those years, I worked with those 17.5 to 100 plus for various reasons. Meeting and hearing about each one of their experiences, made every situation different when determining and reviewing the best resources for them. Not only did I help connect individuals to resources, I also participated in research studies for evidence-based health promotion programs as well as teach them and other programs to the community. I was fortunate enough to become a co-leader with the Iowa, Lafayette & Grant County CCOT (County Communities on Transition) Team to collaborate with local high schools for those students and plan different activities in the community to prepare for adulthood.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
My family and I are often on the go, whether on a walk with our dog, at the local park, swimming, or seeing family members out of town. We love to have as many experiences we can squeeze in on a weekend. On the rare occasion we have a weekend at home, we enjoy relaxing while watching a good movie or show.
