More About Me

How do you Partner with people to 'clear the path ahead'?
As an IRIS Consultant, partnering with new participants means understanding your unique goals and working together to create a plan that suits your needs. To achieve this, I begin by learning about you and your aspirations. I then identify the services and supports currently available to you. Together, we develop an action plan that you feel confident and comfortable with, aiming to secure the care and support necessary to reach your goals. My approach is collaborative, ensuring that you are empowered and engaged throughout the process.

What's your favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant?
The most rewarding aspect of being an IRIS Consultant for me is empowering individuals to take control of their lives and make their own decisions. It's a privilege to support participants as they navigate their paths and accomplish their personal goals. Seeing their progress and the resulting increase in confidence and independence is incredibly gratifying. Knowing that my guidance helps make a real difference in their lives is what makes this role so fulfilling.

What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
My experiences as a Family Support Specialist and an interpreter have prepared me well for my role as an IRIS Consultant. As a Family Support Specialist, I empowered families to advocate for their children's education, honing my skills in communication and empathy. My eight years as a Karen and Burmese interpreter provided me with a deep understanding of diverse cultural backgrounds and the importance of effective communication. These roles have equipped me to connect with individuals, understand their unique challenges, and help them navigate complex systems.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy watching soccer, going to the gym, playing volleyball, and spending time with my children, especially doing outdoor activities.
