Other Experience:
I have been working in the long-term care field for 18 years. Prior to joining the team at TMG, I worked at a managed care organization as well as both the Brown and Kewaunee County Aging and Disability Resource Centers (ADRC). I enjoy working with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Promoting independence and self-efficacy has been at the heart of what I do. Over time, I have developed knowledge of benefits, community resources and providers. While at the ADRC I participated in committees focusing on housing, prevention and wellness, employment and youth in transition.

More About Me

How do you Partner with people to 'clear the path ahead'?
We are all on a different path. Your path ahead has infinite possibilities! My favorite part about working with people is hearing their stories. I have learned just as much from those I work with as they have learned from me. To clear the path ahead, I want to know about you! By understanding your story, where you've been and where you want to go, I can help you find the options available to get you there. I will listen to you, respect your choices and always do my best to provide you with creative approaches to achieve your goals.

What's your favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant?
My passion has been helping people to live as independently as possible in their communities. The IRIS program embodies that philosophy to the core. It is exciting to help people self-direct their future. Getting where we want to go often takes problem solving and creative solutions. I enjoy serving as a resource of information so those I partner with are empowered to make informed decisions. Knowledge is power! My favorite thing about being a TMG IRIS Consultant is partnering with individuals in the program so they have the tools that work for them.

What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
My experiences at the ADRC and in care management have given me the tools to navigate community resources, public benefits and services that we can explore together. I understand how complex things can be. In my past roles I would provide information to help people understand programs and supports based on their individual needs and preferences. This has prepared me to share information in a way that is accessible by explaining topics in a way that makes sense to you. My experience has shown me, again and again, that everyone can self-direct when they have the knowledge to guide them.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
My husband and I have four children who keep us on our toes! We like to play board games, watch movies or have an art night. I enjoy learning new things and challenging myself to grow outside of my comfort zone. Some of my favorite activities include hiking, biking, gardening and listening to music. I also enjoy cooking and baking. During our long Wisconsin winters, I make a lot of soups! I love comedies because laughter really is the best medicine, and thanks to my husband I'm also a big fan of Star Wars and Marvel movies!
