More About Me
How do you Partner with people to 'clear the path ahead'?
When partnering with new participants, my approach focuses on building a strong foundation of trust, understanding, and clear communication. Through this approach, I strive to create a collaborative, supportive environment that helps participants feel both challenged and supported, while making sure their goals remain the central focus.
What's your favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant?
One of the most rewarding aspects of being an IRIS Consultant is the opportunity to make a real, positive impact on individuals’ lives. It’s incredibly fulfilling to work closely with participants, understand their unique needs, and help them achieve their goals. The process of collaborating with them, providing guidance, and seeing them progress — whether it’s gaining independence, improving their skills, or achieving a personal milestone — is deeply satisfying.
What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
My experiences have uniquely prepared me for the IRIS Consultant role. I worked for 10 years in the Therapeutic Recreation Department at the Pleasant Prairie Recplex, where I learned to create inclusive environments and support individuals with various needs. Since 2018, at the Milwaukee Center for Independence and the Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin, I’ve gained extensive experience working with individuals with disabilities, helping them access resources, develop skills, and achieve their personal goals. These roles have helped me build strong communication, problem-solving, and client-centered care skills, which are essential in supporting participants in the IRIS program.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time I love reading and spending time with my family friends and my dog.
