How do you Partner with people to 'clear the path ahead'?
I am an open-minded person and use a nonjudgmental, individual approach when partnering with people. I love to hear about my participants’ lives and what matters the most to them. I truly value the time we spend together, helping you live as full and independent lives as you wish.
What's your favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant?
I value the time I spend with each of my participants learning not only about their services needs but about their lives and what is important to them. I enjoy being able to assist in helping guide people to community supports and ensuring they can continue to live as independently as possible.
What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
I started my career interning at Adult Family family homes in the Fox Valley area. After graduating with my Bachelors of Science degree (BS) in Psychology, I moved back to Milwaukee to pursue a Masters degree (MA) in Clinical Psychology and my license in professional counseling (LPC). After graduating with my MA, I worked as a group therapist with at-risk youth and received by LPC. I have also worked in Transitional Age Day programming teaching, where I’ve taught life skills, computers/adaptive tech, and workplace readiness. My prior position was as a Family Care program case manager, where I connected my members to resources to keep them safe in their homes.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy reading a variety of books - particularly science fiction and historical based novels. I am a crafter and enjoy completing complex coloring pictures. I have a pet rabbit and two large fish that I care for. On occasion, I am known to work on 1000-2000 piece puzzles.
