I spent the last 20+ years working in health care. During my Senior year in high school, I received my certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant. I then spent three years working in two separate long term care, skilled nursing facilities. I enjoyed my time working with the aging population and adults with intellectual and physical disabilities. I then took a position at Unity Point Health Meriter Hospital, where I was a Certified Nursing Assistant on their General Surgery unit. After spending a year on this unit, I then transferred to an open position on the outpatient Heart and Vascular Short Stay Unit. This unit provided me with the opportunity to advance my skills with a clinical ladder, so I could perform more advanced skills than an entry level Certified Nursing Assistant. I enjoyed this role greatly, hence the reason why I stayed on this unit for 16 1/2 years. The skills, knowledge and experience I obtained in the years of service I had at Meriter, helped to guide me to be the compassionate, driven, empowering individual that I am today.

How do you Partner with people to 'clear the path ahead'?
I like to set a non-judgmental atmosphere. I like to listen, so I can understand everyone's unique situation. I like to be genuine when I meet others, so I can help others set a clear path for the services or goals they are trying to navigate.
What's your favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant?
I like that I will get to help people continue to live meaningful lives, while staying independent in their homes. I enjoy getting to know people and their families.
What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
Working with a multitude of different populations in my 20+ years of healthcare. I enjoy being around people and having the opportunity to help them grow and be the best they can be.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy spending time with my family, enjoying time outdoors and watching my children play sports. We like to go fishing, boating and four-wheeling in our free time. I also enjoy watching my children play sports and love nothing more than to see their accomplishments.
