How do you Partner with people to 'clear the path ahead'?
My approach in partnering with new participants is to answer any questions they may initially have, review and discuss the IRIS initial paperwork, learn about their outcomes, and their support needs. To help them accomplish their outcomes, I develop and implement individualized support plans to meet their needs.
What's your favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant?
The most rewarding aspect of being an IRIS Consultant is to help people identify the supports they need to maintain their health, safety, and independence in the community.
What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
Working as a case manager with Community Living Alliance for many years has allowed me to gain knowledge of developing person-centered support plans to obtain services, support, and to achieve participant outcomes. I have worked with diverse client populations in different living arrangements including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and in their own homes. I am also familiar with many local resources.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy gardening, going for walks, watching sports, and traveling.
