Prior to coming to TMG, I worked as a Health and Family Advocate. I worked as a Family Advocate for two years and a Health Advocate for two and a half years. I've worked with children and families in the Early Head Start and Head Start Program. My role was to empower families buy helping them reach their goals while they were enrolled in the program.

How do you Partner with people to 'clear the path ahead'?
When I partner with someone, I like to build a rapport with them. Building a rapport will help me learn about them and their situation. The more I know about them, the more I'll be able to work with them to help them obtain and reach their personal goals. I like to see where they are and see where they are trying to go. My goal is to help empower them by seeing what their need is and by helping them find resources that can help them along their journey.
What's your favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant?
The most rewarding aspect of being an IRIS Consultant will be seeing people reach their goals and to celebrate their wins and successes as partners.
What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
For the past several years, I've spent my time serving the people in the Community. I enjoy serving others and pouring into them by being there when they need it most. Being an advocate has helped me learn about people and resources in the Community. Being an advocate has also helped me learn how to approach situations from a strength based approach rather than a deficit approach. Everyone has strengths and working as an advocate has helped me learn how to pull the best out in others.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my family and watching action movies. I so enjoy working in the Children's Ministry at my church and volunteering in my Community.
