How do you Partner with people to 'clear the path ahead'?
Partnering means learning about a person and their goals. In order to achieve a person's goals, I will help them create a plan they feel comfortable with. I will work with individuals to identify services or supports available - free, using other funding sources, etc. This will help to stretch your IRIS budget and keep resources you need to get the care and support necessary to achieve and maintain your important goals.
What's your favorite thing about being an IRIS consultant?
I truly enjoy to work with people. I realize that my work and my help can change people’s life. I am big believer in self-directed care, because it provides people with services and supports to continue independent life and to be in charge of their own life. My biggest joys are when they achieve something that they've planned for long time.
What past experience prepared you to become an IRIS Consultant?
I had real life experience to care for my father-in-law during last 5 years. I learned the importance of asking questions and really listening in order to understand what a person needs and wants.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I like to be with my family and friends. I like to visit my children and I am very happy when they come to visit me. I like to travel and enjoy seeing new places and cultures. I like to read history books.
